Rodents out, entry points sealed shut.
Roof rats have moved into the West Valley’s citrus trees, palms, and attics. We trap what’s inside, seal every way back in, and confirm the activity has stopped.
Rodent control in the West Valley
Roof rats have spread across Maricopa County, and established West Valley neighborhoods give them everything they want. Citrus trees and palms provide food and cover, drip irrigation provides water, and a warm attic under a tile roof provides a place to nest. They’re climbers, so they travel along block walls, power lines, and tree branches that touch the roof.
Trapping alone is a treadmill. If the gaps stay open, the next rat follows the same path in. That’s why our rodent work pairs trapping with exclusion. Bryce inspects the roofline, tile gaps, garage door seals, AC line chases, and vents, then sets traps to remove what’s already inside. We don’t put poison in the attic, which can leave odor in the walls and puts dogs, cats, and owls at risk.
Once activity slows, entry points are sealed with durable materials like metal mesh and sealant. Follow-up visits confirm it’s over before the job is called done. We also handle mice and can talk through other rodent problems, like gophers and ground squirrels in the yard.
Signs it’s time to call
Noises at night
Scratching or scurrying in the attic or walls around dusk and before dawn is the classic roof rat sign.
Droppings & gnawing
Droppings in the garage or pantry, gnawed drip lines and wiring, and shredded insulation.
Hollowed-out citrus
Oranges or grapefruit hollowed out while still on the tree, or chewed fruit on the ground.
Pets on alert
Dogs fixating on a wall or ceiling, pet food disappearing, or movement along the fence line at night.
How Bryce handles it
Find every entry
A full inspection of rooflines, tile gaps, garage seals, AC chases, and vents. A small gap is enough for a rat.
Trap & remove
Traps set inside to remove active rodents, with no poison in the attic. Trapped animals are removed.
Seal it shut
Exclusion closes entry points with metal mesh and sealant so the next rat can’t follow the same path in.
Verify
Follow-up visits confirm activity has stopped before the job is called done.

Straight answers about rodent control
Don’t see your question? Call or text (623) 363-3124 and you’ll get Bryce, not a call center.
Do you use poison or traps?
Traps plus exclusion. Poison in an attic can leave a rodent dying inside a wall, with the odor that comes with it, and it creates a secondary-poisoning risk for pets and birds of prey. Trapping removes the animals, and sealing the entry points keeps new ones out.
How long does rodent control take?
Most homes take a few visits: trapping first, then sealing entry points, then follow-up to verify activity has stopped. Bigger attics or homes with many entry points can take longer. Bryce will give you an honest idea of the timeline after the inspection.
Why are there roof rats in the desert?
Roof rats have spread across Maricopa County because neighborhoods give them what they need. Citrus and palm trees offer food and shelter, irrigation supplies water, and attics under tile roofs make warm nesting spots. Older, established neighborhoods with mature trees tend to see the most activity.
How do I keep roof rats out of my citrus trees?
Pick fruit as it ripens and clear fallen fruit from the ground. Trim branches so they don’t touch the roof, walls, or fence, and thin out dense palms and vines. Those steps help a lot, but if rats are already in the attic, the entry points need sealing too.
Do you clean up after rodents?
Removal of trapped animals is included. For larger jobs with heavy droppings or damaged insulation, Bryce will walk you through what needs cleaning or replacing and how to handle it safely, so nothing that attracts rodents is left behind.
